one of my favorite memories is of a July 4th celebration. We sat in the grass at the Community Park and watched an awesome fireworks show, exploding high above Lake Belle View. It was neat to see the reflections on the water and the geese circling overhead added a whole other dimension.
Considering this has been a long-term goal for the Belleville community, I think this is a great idea to restore the ecosystem. This will also help Belleville become more self sufficient. I encourage everyone to vote, every vote counts.
I just moved to the community and absolutely love it here! I was so excited to see the frozen lake and was really looking forward to the thaw and enjoying the beautiful scenery in the park around the lake. How disappointing to see the lake in its current state! I really hope we can do this!
Every year, Operation Migration works diligently to save the Whooping Crane. Two years ago I was fortunate to see one of these magnificent birds in the wild. Where? In the Sugar River watershed near Lake Belle View.
I grew up in a house about 50 yards away from Lake Belle View and across from Community Park. The kids in my neighborhood spent hours skipping rocks, fishing and swimming in that lake, looking for turtles, minnows and crawdads. This project needs the money and it's certainly worth it. Check it out.
